General Augusto Pinochet of Chile
In 1973, General August Pinochet facilitated a coup d'état, in which the Socialist President, Salvador Allende, was murdered. In 1990, when General Pinochet ended his rule, the country's treasury had been greatly depleted. He passed on to glory at the age of 91 on the 10 December 2006, with charges of corruption trailing his death. Donate
