Nigerians will soon heave a sigh of relief, after eight years of tortuous regulation of their behaviors by those in power today. Indeed, participation in the decision making process during this period is a true reflection of democracy. Political and career appointments in this administration exposed the fact that Nigeria is not a balanced federation revolving around the principles of justice, equity and fairness. Who are those that shall account for the unspecified number of innocent human lives that have been lost to violent crimes in this dispensation? This question continues to linger. In civilized societies, leaders seek power out of genuine nationalistic interest not only to transform the social and economic lives of the people but also to advance citizens' rights, the rule of law, and the course of democracy.
