Helplessness in the Face of Dirt

In early Victorian Britain, health and cleanliness were visible challenges in the slums. The outbreak of cholera in 1832 and 1837 prompted the Government to probe the causes of the fever. In 1838, three medical experts-Dr. Southwood-Smith, Dr. Arnott, and Dr, Kay-submitted Reports anchored on the physical causes of Cholera fever in London. This included Dr. Southwood-Smith's worrisome account of the slums of Bethnal Green and White chapel. Satanic occurrences in different parts of Nigeria in this dispensation are on the increase due to the complicity of those in charge.  Indeed, ritual killings and unnatural deaths pervade the landscape while grief-stricken families and relatives mourn their loved ones without consolation.  Surprisingly, those in charge carry on as if nothing tragic happened.   This is sad.  Of worry, however, is the seeming absence of humanity in a sizable number of Nigerians cutting across social status, religious persuasions, and ethnic leanings.  Why is this so?
