Making Difficult Decisions

Your ability to take difficult decisions would go a long way in determining your survival in business. There must be consistency in making decisions considered to be necssary, but unpopular and difficult, timely. Decisions such as the shutting down of unproductive branches and the retrenchment of redundant staff should not be allowed to linger for so long. Be observant, when you discover that any of your employee is not meeting up to the set standard, it is better to do the needful. When you make hard decisions, wrong strategies, the wrong people and the wrong projects are put at bay.

The use of alcohol, illicit substances and hard drugs by students and youths has reached an all-time high in different parts of Nigeria. It has in fact become a social problem and menace. Indeed, in states where Those-in-Charge generate revenue from illegal structures, illicit substances and alcohol are sold in makeshift kiosks along the road, under bridges and motorparks. When the Government is desperate and resolute to cling to power, in the face of the unfavorable outcome of elections, election and the existence of political parties opposing the government do not constitute evidences of democracy. Indeed, a number of countries have the forms of democracy, but the reality of dictatorship. Without doubt there is a vital difference between democracy and dictatorship, however, it varies from one country to another. Notably, the Civil Service must be efficient and must render equally, good service without strings of partisanship, for the people to be reassured that they government they elected will carry out their wishes and at the same time fulfill promises made.
