The Zamfara Situation

The leadership in Zamfara state must have taken active steps to address the major security challenge of banditry in villages, including Kwatar, Bungudu and Boko. It is assumed that normalcy has returned to Mada, Wonaka, Ruwan Bore all in the Gusau Local Government Area, and other villages that are undereported. The people must be rested assured that the government is responsive and sensitive to their plight. Perhaps. The leadership has all it takes to restore peace in different parts of the state.

Revive Moribund Health Facilities-NASU to Fed. Ministry of Health

 The Minister of Health has been advised  to ensure the renovation and rehabilitation of obsolete and moribund health facilities in government-owned hospitals  across the country. This advice was given by a member of the National Executive Council(NEC) of the Non-Academic Staff Union and Associated Institutions(NASU), who doubles as the  branch chairman of the union at the  University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria, Comrade Kehinde Abiona. ''The Minister of Health needs to look inwards and ensure that the moribund facilities that are the health sector are revived. Since the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration carried out the only major facility upgrade  in 2005, nothing has been done by successive administrations. We are yet to be paid Hazard Allowance-NASU UCH

The Non-Academic Staff Union OF Allied and Education Institutions(NASU) University College Hospital(UCH)branch, Ibadan, Nigeria has declared that its members are yet to be paid hazard allowance as resident doctors. This Declaration was made by the chairman of the union in the University College Hospital(UCH)branch Ibadan, Nigeria, Comrade Kehinde Abiona. ''Our union and the resident doctors have common demands, we are yet to be paid hazard allowance and there is a need to improve health services. However, I would urge our members to remain calm and we should continue to work with management to ensure that our members do not suffer. I can only advise my members to remain calm, calculative and composed, '' Comrade Abiona stated. The Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors(NARD) had given the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to meet its demands or it would proceed on an indefinite strike.
