Denied the Right to Livelihood

The economic policies of  the present administration in Nigeria have painfully  eroded  the  fundamental rights of citizens.

Economic reforms have attracted difficulties, sufferings and hardships, to the extent that heinous and grievous crimes are now perceived as credible solutions?

Nigerians have been denied their rights to livelihood, which translates to the denial of their rights to life and personal dignity.

The consequences are now occupying public space and Those-in-Charge are not only confused, but also helpless.

The use of alcohol, illicit substances and hard drugs by students and youths has reached an all-time high in different parts of Nigeria. It has in fact become a social problem and menace. Indeed, in states where Those-in-Charge generate revenue from illegal structures, illicit substances and alcohol are sold in makeshift kiosks along the road, under bridges and motorparks. The insinuation is that the cream in society may be benefitting from the sales. That is why it goes unabated. When the Government is desperate and resolute to cling to power, in the face of the unfavorable outcome of elections, election and the existence of political parties opposing the government do not constitute evidences of democracy. Indeed, a number of countries have the forms of democracy, but the reality of dictatorship. Without doubt there is a vital difference between democracy and dictatorship, however, it varies from one country to another.
