If Nigerians can easily repent of their sins and change their behavior, activities and attitude, all will change for the better.'' ''The problems are not the change of leadership or change of political parties, but have more to do with the change of mind. If Nigerians don't change, things will not change for the better. This assertion was made  by a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC), Comrade Andrew Emelieze.

''It is quite unfortunate that millions of Nigerians who pay income  and various other taxes are not feeling the developmental impact of these taxes. Majority of those who pay taxes are not given tax certificates and there is no tax rebate. It is as if taxation is all about the extortion of Nigerians. The benefits of the taxes government collects are not visible,'' Comrade Emelieze stated.

In his view, the chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union and Associated Institutions(NASU) University College Hospital(UCH) Ibadan branch, Comrade Kehinde Abiona  agrees that the impact of the taxes collected are not felt by workers saying,''the taxes workers pay must count, it is statutory for workers to pay taxes, unless there is a taxes relief or tax holiday, the situation will remain the same. When the government collects taxes let the people feel the impact.''
